A handful of tourists were injured and one woman killed by sharks in separate incidents off the coast of Sharm al Sheikh in Egypt. Experts were flown in to decipher why a Mako and Ocean White Tip shark, neither of which would normally approach the shore, were actively seeking out human flesh. They theorized that overfishing has exhausted the sharks’ normal food source. Local authorities went on a mad hunting spree in order to deter any further losses to its tourism revenue, resulting in the wrongful death of at least one shark.
