Third ‘Greenomics’ Conference Set for 8th November 2010 in Dubai

The UAE Ministry of Environment and Water (MoEW) recently announced the third “Greenomics” conference will take place on 8th November 2010. This year the conference will focus on the principles of clean production and benefits that green policies will have on business. Dr. Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water, and Mr. K. W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics met to discuss final arrangements for Greenomics 2010.

Keynote speakers, experts and environmental specialists from across the world will attend the conference to share their best practice experiences and business success stories. Dr. Rashid Ahmad, the summit’s keynote speaker, said “the main topic for Greenomics 2010 is ‘Clean Production’… The purpose of this year’s conference is to highlight the many benefits of adopting Clean Production principles, which minimise the use of harmful materials, reduce emissions and waste, resulting in optimised quality of products and services and the community at large.’

He further stated: “As a business community, it is our duty to act as leaders in all aspects. This includes taking charge of our green management and our contribution to reversing our environmental impact.”

Among the main speakers are Mohammed Al Ghurair, Managing Director of Masafi and an eminent member of the local business community,  Hassan Omar, General Manager of Ducab, Steven Pratt, Regional Manager of InterfaceFlor and Secretary of the Board for the Emirates Green Building Council and Simon Major and Shabbir Nullwala of Al Gurg Paints will share how their business initiatives have helped to shape environmentally conscious business models for the region.

Greenomics 2010 is an all-day event which will take place at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai on 8th November 2010.
