Israel’s Ministry of Tourism Dramatically Expands Bicycle Tourism Industry

Bicycles are becoming trendy here in Israel, and as a result the government has been spearheading initiatives to promote this eco-friendly, congestion-fighting trend. What’s more, bicycle tourism is becoming increasingly popular as well, as bikers savor the open green spaces that Israel has to offer.

Israel’s Ministry of Tourism has just announced that the government is allocating 100 million shekel to develop bicycle tourism in Israel on a grand scale. What’s more, they are interested in getting proposals from people who have an idea how to develop the industry. Applicants whose proposals are suitable will be invited to present their ideas.

Their ultimate goal: To position Israel as a tourism hot spot for cyclists worldwide.

Says Tourism Minister Ruhama Avraham-Balili:

“The Tourism Ministry leads the development of the cycling tourism industry as part of its policy to position Israel as a unique and quality tourist destination at an international level. This is in light of the worldwide trend in the tourism industry that places cycling tourism as a significant and developing market segment.

“Developing the industry will improve Israel’s image around the world and increase tourist traffic, while preserving the environment.”

  1. Dear Sir
The main idea of “Trans It” is to offer, any kind of tourist, to feel and experience the touch and the warmth of the country of Israel.
From any place and every spot the tourist will be able to have a direct and rich contact with the local people, with no hesitation.
In just one phone call away, our people will guide and instruct him in every way that he shell decide to go.
Our service is virtual telephone guide. It supplements traditional service of Israeli tourist, aero and inquiry offices. It begin to work when a tourist get without treatments of the companies (in the evening, in Shabbat, in holydays). That’s way our commercial interests will be able to coincide.

We shell provide an answer for any question or situation.
From the smallest question as “how to order water in restaurant in Hebrew? ” To ” which are the most popular places should we visit in Tel Aviv?” .
“What is the best way to get from Jerusalem to Eilat by bus, airplane or rent a car”?
As well we shell offer prime location to visit in every area.
For younger population we shell provide information targeted for their needs (parties, pubs, dance bars, sea shores and invitations as well, if needed).
As well we are offering translation service for tourist and citizens as one.

  2. Props to them for promoting this, but doing this to draw tourists from around the world (their stated goal) is hardly “eco.” I’d prefer initiatives that promote local tourism.

Choosing Riyadh over Dubai? What Investors Should Know

Saudi Arabia is deploying capital at unmatched scale to catalyze tourism and advanced industry while rewiring its power-and-water backbone. The investable frontier is widening—especially in renewables, grid storage, water efficiency/desal retrofits, and hospitality operating platforms. Prudent investors will insist on phased delivery, enforceable KPIs (energy, water, biodiversity), and RHQ/zone compliance—while pricing political-economy and reputational risks alongside growth upside.

Swiss village Blatten is flattened by freak glacial melt

On May 28, 2025, the tranquil Alpine village of Blatten in Switzerland's Lötschental Valley, about 75 miles west of Geneva, faced a catastrophic event. A massive section of the Birch Glacier, estimated at 1.5 million cubic meters, collapsed, unleashing a torrent of ice, mud, and rock that engulfed the village. Some 90% of the village was destroyed, and one man is missing. Climate change is to blame.
