More than 1,000 teachers and school administrators in upstate New York have accepted a 10-day challenge to eat a plant-based diet, inspired by a colleague who transformed himself after a heart attack. Perhaps he will inspire you to ditch meat too, at a minimum challenge you to trial Meatless Mondays.

Doug Schmidt, an elementary school teacher in Rochester, suffered a near fatal heart attack at age 49. “I weighed 225 pounds and thought I was just an average American, middle-age guy,” he told ABC News. Following a second heart scare a year later, he decided to make some lifestyle changes, beginning with a gradual transition off red meat and towards a plant-based, whole foods diet.

Within three years, his diet had become completely plant-based and does not include processed foods, sugar, or oil. Schmidt lost 60 pounds in thr process, and was able to stop taking his medications. He also saved a bundle of money, and radically reduce his carbon footprint. (See his amazing before and after images below.)

plant based diet

“The medicine was in the food,” said Schmidt, “I eat more now than I did on my standard American diet, but it’s all good stuff and your body just craves it and thrives on it.”

It’s been ten years since his first heart attack. Schmidt, who was formerly a professional baker, is also a wellness coordinator in his school district. His transformation drew the attention of his fellow teachers. Two years ago, he led the 10-day plant-based diet challenge attracting 30 curious colleagues. The next year the same challenge drew about 65 participants.

This year, the “10-Day Jumpstart Your Health Challenge” has been adopted in 35 school districts and a community college and counts 1,300 participants. It is challenge is based on The Engine 2 Diet book, a plant-based food plan by Rip Esselstyn. A website and a Facebook page provide support to the participants, and serve as platforms for sharing recipes and meal planning.

Schmidt hopes to coordinate with author Esselstyn to help people incorporate their new dietary habits into a sustainable lifelong plan.

“When I look at my fridge, it looks totally different than it did 10 years ago,” he said. “Yes I’ve given up some of my favorite foods, but what I’ve gained in my life is so much richer.”

“I literally feel like I’m 20 or 30 again,” he said. “My only regret is I wish I would have done this 10 years earlier.”

Are you a reducetarian?

A turn away from meat is not as common in the USA as it in countries such as Lebanon, Turkey, and Israel – which boast some of the lowest meat consumption in the world. In Israel, plant-based diets are so popular that the military has incorporated vegan options into the soldiers’ meal plan. Israelis are the world’s biggest fruit and vegetable eaters in the world per capita.

A plant-based diet provided by companies like Geltor, Good Catch, Desserto, Ripple, Impossible Foods, Miyoko’s Creamery., Nuggs consists of minimally processed fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, herbs, and spices and excludes all animal products, including red meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products.

Irreverant card game seeks to save America

0

Cards Against Humanity, a cocky card game company known for its attention-seeking pranks, has purchased land on the U.S.-Mexico border to block President Trump from building his wall. The holiday promotion, which invited customers to purchase $15 US of products from its website – money to be used in part to acquire the land then legally defend its purchase – sold out just hours after its launch. You could say it was a “bigly” and “huuuge” success.

Knitting for pleasure, people, and peace

Vogue Knitting Live! is a three day event that occurs annually in several US cities.  It is the Burning Man for fiber enthusiasts, a high energy festival featuring classes and lectures and fashion shows. Anchored by the Marketplace, an enormous and spirited souk selling buttons, patterns, organic handcreams, every knitting and crochet accessory on the planet, and of course – yarn. I went to Manhattan event last weekend. A theme arose from the crafty chaos: use creativity for a higher purpose.

Smartphones with the best battery life

0

There are many factors that inform our choice of mobile device. Whether it’s picking a smartphone with a big screen for graphics, or an environmentally-friendly mobile, there’s an overwhelming selection to choose from.

But perhaps the most important factor is a mobile device’s battery life. So here’s is a quick rundown of the smartphones that last a little longer.

Apple iPhone X

There is little doubt that Apple’s stylish iPhone X managed to pick up the top accolades for being the best smartphone of last year.

And whilst the device’s facial recognition technology and newly configured screen caught many people’s attention, it looked like the iPhone X managed to also improve on its predecessors’ battery lives.

The iPhone X is kitted out with a 2716mAh battery that should last a good eighteen hours per day. Thanks to the relatively efficient OLED screen, it means that the new Apple smartphone should be able to last a full day of heavy use and help the company put their recent battery embarrassments behind them.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

This Korean brand has consistently rivalled Apple for producing excellent smartphones. And the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus certainly manages to hold its own against the iPhone X with a very respectable eighteen hour battery life.

The Galaxy S8 Plus has a 3000mAh battery that could possibly have been larger were it not for the Galaxy Note 7 battery fiasco of last year. But with a full day’s use without running out of juice, it should help Samsung retain their title of being the world’s most popular smartphone manufacturer.

Motorola Moto Z Play

Whilst Samsung and Apple compete to provide us with expensive smartphones with increasingly sophisticated features, a few companies have released mid-level mobiles that might not include the most futuristic specs, but they more than make up for it with some impressive battery stats.

This is certainly the case with the Motorola Moto Z Play. Although Motorola have struggled to compete with bigger brands, their Moto Z Play smartphone managed to clock up an incredible 23 hours of battery life.

We tested the Moto Z Play with some more battery-intensive tasks like playing virtual sports online on Betway, and it seems that Motorola have given us one of the best smartphone batteries so far.

Huawei Mate 10

This Chinese brand have been receiving plenty of acclaim for their excellent smartphones that are delivered at a very competitive price point.

And true to form, the Huawei Mate 10 was released last October, and it quickly picked up many commendable reviews for its 18:9 FullView display, water-resistant construction and its long-lasting battery.

With its massive 4000mAh battery cell able to last well over twenty hours, it looks like Huawei have given us one of the longest-lasting smartphones on the market. And with a speedy charging-up time, it shows that Huawei are taking their mobiles’ batteries very seriously.

Lenovo P2

However, if you are looking for a smartphone that can last well over two days, then the Lenovo P2 would be well worth tracking down.

Whilst the Chinese tech manufacturer have struggled to keep up with their competitors, their Lenovo P2 smartphone features a huge 5,100mAh battery cell that was accompanied by claims that it could last up to three days without needing recharging.

And with a very handy battery saver mode, it once again shows how some smartphone manufacturers are making battery life their main selling point.

Google Pixel

And finally, we’re taking a look at the Google Pixel smartphone. Unfortunately this device has been blighted with many reports of users suffering from battery drain problems.

Although the device can be charged up to seven hours of usage after just fifteen minute’s charging, with most users only getting less than a day’s use out of the smartphone, it seems that Google Pixel’s 2,770mAh battery struggled with the competition.

World Health Organization calls CBD oil safe

1

While parents everywhere are worried about the effects of cannabis products on their loved ones’ health, despise much research that shows how medical marijuana can be restorative and healing for many ailments, a small breakthrough for cannabis medicine by the World Health Organization (WHO) who in a new report (download PDF here) bids that CBD is safe.

The WHO says it has found no adverse health outcomes but on the contrary many medical applications for cannabidiol, or CBD, despite confusing US federal policy on this cannabinoid chemical found in marijuana. See our article on Dr. Alan Shackelford here.

Alan Shackelford, medicinal cannabis doctor Charlotte's Web

According to a WHO report released last month, naturally occurring CBD is safe and well tolerated in humans (and animals), and is not associated with any negative public health effects.

“To date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD,” they wrote. CBD, a non-psychoactive chemical found in cannabis, does not induce physical dependence and is “not associated with abuse potential.” People aren’t getting high off of it either, the report added.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the naturally occurring cannabinoid molecules found in cannabis plants. “In an animal drug discrimination model CBD failed to substitute for THC. In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential. CBD has been demonstrated as an effective treatment of epilepsy in several clinical trials, with one pure CBD product (Epidiolex®) currently in Phase III trials,” the report noted.

Charlotte Figi treated with CBD from cannabis to stop seizures.

“There is also preliminary evidence that CBD may be a useful treatment for a number of other medical conditions. There is unsanctioned medical use of CBD based products with CBD oil, supplements, gums, and high concentration extracts available online for the treatment of many ailments. CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.

“Reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug-drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.”

Sustainable, local wine-tasting with WINEFUL, launching in Tel Aviv

1

Israelis have come into their own in winemaking in recent years. They are winning awards at coveted wine events around the world and are exciting the tastebuds of sommeliers like Joe Gallo, owner of the famous Californian E. & J. Gallo Winery. He told his hosts, when visiting the Golan Heights Winery: “I was not aware that such high quality wines are made in Israel.”

What we call the modern wine industry in Israel was founded by Baron Edmond James de Rothschild, but wine in Israel is an ancient story – a spiritual and cultural one –  since biblical times. Wine has been used by Jews for thousands of years to sanctify the Sabbath, and quite possibly – since it was kept in the Holy Temple in Jerusalem – to commune with God in ancient times. (Some may say wine still works very well in this regard!).

Israel is part of the Mediterranean region and is at the same latitude as San Diego. It’s just beside Lebanon, already established in the wine industry as a great wine making nation. While each country will produce wine with its own terroir, or flavor from the land, Israel is viewed by many as special, because of its ancient traditions, some mystical and holy, and its special location in the Middle East.

Now with hundreds of local varieties to choose from, it’s very hard for newcomers to the industry to know where to start. The major wineries are always dominant and can be found in any supermarket in Israel, but how does one really get the flavor and stories of boutique crafted wine? Wine that is made with the traditions, the stories, and values of the land and its special people?

A new startup called Wineful aims to bring the local and sustainable experience to wine tasting in Israel, and then the world. While so many of us are brought together with wine, it’s hard to understand why it’s still so hard to walk into a store and find the wine that will meet our cravings and values. Before you read on, if you like the idea, sign up to be part of Wineful events here.

“Wine is a complex thing,” says Roni Saslove, one of the founders of Wineful. She will be leading the mini-workshops and experiences. “Consider Lotem Winery,” she explains: “they play holy music to the wine by placing speakers in the barrel room. Music has vibrations and this energy infuses the wine molecules. Will you taste it? Maybe not. Can your body feel it or not? Wine doesn’t stop living and I think since I became a winemaker the practice has become a lot more philosophical.

“There are endless parameters that can influence the wine, from choosing the grapes in the vineyard to after the wine is bottled. The only time this process stops is after we swallow it and our body absorbs it and we become one with the wine. Or maybe it doesn’t end there?”

The first pilot meeting for Wineful will take place at an exclusive event in Tel Aviv on Rothschild Boulevard, Tel Aviv on January 4, from 8 to 10 PM. Guests will be tasting a number of wines that all come with great stories of the land. All of the wines will be of excellent quality, selected by sommelier and winemaker Saslove herself, and all will have a powerful sustainability angle.

Roni was one of the founders of the boutique winery Saslove that she founded with her dad, Barry. Since selling the award-winning business, she’s gone on to open Tel Aviv’s Tasting Room, in the Sarona District. And now works as a wine therapist and in hosting private wine tasting events.

The wine experiences that she will be creating with her partners for Wineful will connect us all in a deeper way to the living and sacred element that is wine. The first Wineful event will feature a selection of great wines that stand alone as great wine on their own accord, but which also have a  strong social and environmental impact. Future events will bring in guest winemakers and celebrities.

“I come to the topic of the wine through the drinker,” says Roni, “acknowledging that it’s a personal and primal experience. To a great degree we are not aware of it. We all breathe and then we smell which creates memories, and maybe it’s that smell which reminds us of the past even if it goes to the subconscious.

“In one wine tasting, one of our guests felt Jerusalem, because the wine smelled like sesame seeds,” says Saslove. “The brain finds a personal story in the experience. And wine tells where it came from. What variety, the soil type, when it was harvested, the location, the soul of the winemaker. And some things, like being organic maybe aren’t tangible but are still present. Is it tastier or higher in quality?  A lot research says it’s not – but if we think of our existence as not being a respectful and responsible one, then our actions can become something broader.”

So what wines will be tasting at the pilot event? Some may be made from ancient biblical grape varieties, one claimed to being the original Chardonnay grapes. The word “sha’ar” is gate in Hebrew and “adonai” is one of the 80-so names for the Jewish God. It is believed, though not yet proven, that Chardonnay (sha’aradonai) grapes came from Jerusalem and were grown outside the gates of the Holy Temple thousands of years ago. Dare to take a sip? We challenge our french friends. Maybe this wine will awaken an inner spiritual room waiting to be visited. You won’t know till you try. 🙂

Sign up for Wineful here. The first pilot event on Jan, 4 (8 to 10PM) will take place in an intimate space, location revealed upon registration. The cost is NIS 150 for pre-registration and will include 6 tastings, a mini-workshop on wine tasting, cheese and the best company on the planet.

Some wines we might be tasting, will come from this list:

8 Sustainable Wines from Israel, recommended by Wineful

Lotem’s Luana:  A light white wine made from Sauvignon grapes with fringe or gentle sweetness, with strong fruity apple and pear aromas. An ideal wine for spring summer and fall, beautiful landscapes and smiles.

Lotem’s Piano Rose: A Special dry Rose produced traditionally by bleeding with peels for 2 hours from Nebbiolo, Petit Verdot, Sirah. The combination of three grapes varieties gives the wine a richness of smells and a special aroma of red grapefruit.

Harashim’s White Moon: This wine represents the beginning of harvest.  The grapes are from Chardonnay and Sauvignon blanc vines that were co-planted in the same rows of Harashim Vineyard in 1987. The grapes are harvested at dawn and pressed in whole clusters in a basket press. The must is fermented by wild yeasts and goes through malolactic fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is kept on lees for 3 months, and aged in old barrels for 5 months.
Harashim’s Black Bird: 100% Syrah from Tzivon Vineyard, a low yielding plot of 500 kilograms per dunam. The fruit is rich and dark. The clusters are separated and gently crushed and undergo wild fermentation. The skin contact lasts under a week. After fermentation, the wine enters old barrels for 8 months, and 4 more months in stainless steel before bottling.
Kerem Shvo’s Chenin Blanc: 100% Chenin Blanc, hand harvested at dawn, gentle whole cluster pressing (Champagne style), natural, indigenous yeast fermentation in 400 liter French oak barrels.

Particularly slow fermentation, 12 months long. 12 months on lees in barrels. Six additional months in tank prior to bottling.  Style: a unique and fascinating Chenin. Very complex nose (pitanga, dried fruit, wonderful minerality…). Full bodied, exceptionally rich and beautifully balanced with typical Chenin acidity.

Kerem Shvo’s Red: Syrah – 45%, Grenache – 20%, Barbera – 20%, Mourvedre – 15%. Hand harvested, natural, indigenous yeast fermentation in open-top vats. Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels

Galil Mountain’s Viognier: This Israeli made Viognier is a refreshing white wine made from grapes grown in the Galilee. It has a nice golden yellow color. The aroma is fresh and light with apricots, nectarine, and a touch of oakiness. The taste is more full bodied with only a small bite from the alcohol but much more acidity. The taste is much more oakey with exotic spices. A great white wine that can be enjoyed by the novice or mature palate.

Galil Mountain’s Yiron – Such a tasty blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 7% Syrah grown in the the higher elevations of the Upper Galilee, considered the best wine-growing area in Israel. Aged for 16 months in small French oak barrels, this is a complex and elegant wine showing a rich, black cherry and blackberry nose, balanced with fine notes of dried herbs, vanilla and oak.

Ecofy your bathroom with these design ideas

0

natural bathroom design ideas for the ecophile

Bathrooms. It’s my favorite room in the house. It’s where I do my best singing, my best thinking, and my best cleaning. It’s also the room where we might get caught up in using a lot of cleaning products. Because bathrooms tend to be tiled and keep clean, we don’t need to worry as much about off-gassing products like carpeting.

I think the most eco-thing you can do for your bathroom is to make it one that will stand the test of time. Don’t go for designs of the moment, like dragon tattooed tiles. Save those crazy design inspirations for shower curtains, something that you can change every couple of years if need be.

We get inspired by bathroom design ideas styles from New York. If you see the plain white, sometimes black and white tiled floors in the bathrooms of New York apartments and hotels, it’s a style that has lasted for about 100 years. From the 20s until now. The important thing when choosing white is making sure you keep the mould and grunge out because it shows fast, which is a good thing too because mould, even in the bathroom, is not good for you. Caesarstone in the UK is a great design choice for bathroom worktops and surfaces. The gorgeous understated colors and lines are like a work of art that will surely last decades, if not a century in your much loved bathroom.

Other elements like wood stools and benches can increase your need for feeling nature in the bathroom and of course some detoxifying, beautiful plants can be a wonderful eco additional to any bathroom remodel or upgrade. We once had well-lit shower with sunlight and windows surrounding the tub in an apartment in Tel Aviv, and it was really the perfect place for growing plants. Also having a romantic bath or shower made us feel like we were out of the city, like in the jungle or in the middle of an island in Thailand.

Because our moments in the bathroom can be physical, visceral and contemplative, it’s important that you set the mood right. Don’t underestimate the power of a good candle to transform your bathroom from a simple sort of boring place to a new magical spot that smells great and feels cozy. Additional reading.

5 places to see in the Middle East before you die

Credit: https://pixabay.com/en/jerusalem-the-dormition-church-1042972/

Today, we are in the unfortunate situation where the only thing we associate with the Middle East is political turmoil, strife, and extremism. However, this transcontinental region that spans so many different nations, languages, landscapes is steeped in history, culture, and even features a few of the world’s wonders.

It’s easy to forget all about the amazing traveling adventures and experiences that are to be found here. Let’s not forget that some of the world’s oldest civilizations originated in this region that services as a critical juncture between east and west, north and south.

In this article, we want to open your eyes once more to all the richness and diversity that the Middle East has to offer, like the concept of Islamic charity. Let’s look at some of the top travel destinations and experience that are just waiting for you.

Jerusalem

Still, a hot topic of debate and a sensitive issue for many, the conflict surrounding Jerusalem itself is an unfortunate yet telling reminder of the history and deep meaning that this city has in the world at large. The constant presence of security personnel in the streets and near the religious sites is a daily reminder and might put some off traveling here.

However, Jerusalem itself is home to so many historical, religious, and cultural sites that it’s simply a must-see for anyone that sees themselves as a world-traveller.

The Old City is home to the Temple Mount Compound that is literally surrounded by religious sites such as the Western Wall, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Dome of the Rock. Some might seem rather stark and uninteresting at first but merely witnessing the importance these sites have to their respective devotees is a sight in itself.

Petra

Most of us are familiar with the striking and massive edifice that is without the doubt the “poster image” for this spectacular sight. It’s called “Al Khazneh” and is a temple that features an ornate Greek-style facade that’s almost 45m in height.

However, many are amazed once they really start to explore and see the pure scope of the inner chambers consisting of tombs and temples. Carved into the huge pinkish sandstone formation in the area, it is appropriately collectively known as the “Rose City”.

So popular is this destination that a whole town has sprung up to host visitors. Wadi Musa is just a walk away from the temple grounds but most hotels offer free shuttles. The town itself is easy to reach by bus or taxi from Aqaba airport to the south (1h 51m) or Amman to the North (2h 50m).

The Great Pyramids

We almost didn’t include this one because it is so well-known all around the world. These relatively simple structures are breathtaking in their pure scope that is only compounded by the fact they were constructed thousands of years ago. How exactly this was achieved still baffles scientists and archaeologists alike.

There is little denying the fact that they are still one of the most impressive projects ever undertaken and completed by humans. Even among the 7 Wonders of the World, the Great Pyramid of Giza is special as it is the oldest structure on the list.

The most famous and most striking of destinations is the three pyramid complex bordering El Giza in Egypt which is only a short distance from the capital, Cairo. As a bonus, you can also see the equally stunning Great Sphinx of Giza.

Istanbul

Not surprising given its incredibly strategic location, Istanbul is one incredible conflagration of culture, history, and east meets west. Today, it is the cultural, economic, and historical centre of Turkey. However, in its previous incarnations as Byzantium and Constantinople, it was once the capital of the Byzantium half of the Roman empire.

It straddles the Bosporus strait which literally places it right in between Europe and the Middle East. As you can imagine, this resulted in it collecting a wealth of cultural and historically prominent sites and locations over the centuries.

As this city has maintained its prominence in the world at large, it is now also a shining example of old meets new with the ancient and modern sides of the city constantly juxtaposed against each other. It’s home to both skyscrapers and ancient monuments, hip coffee shops and antique storefronts. Expect to see breathtakingly beautiful mosques, lavish and exquisite palaces, and bustling bazaars that still call back to the cities ancient roots.

Dubai

Now, for something a little different. Dubai has only recently risen to prominence both on the political and economic world stage as well as a popular travel destination. It’s the capital of the Emirate of Dubai and the largest and most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. Because of its strategic location, it has emerged as a global trading hub.

The huge influx of cash has seen this city turn into a marvel of excess. It, without a doubt, has one of the most impressive skylines in the world featuring some of the most impressive structures in existence such as the Burj Khalifa which is also the tallest building in the world.

Because of global business interests and its central location, it’s also a mixing pot of cultures and nationalities. This resulted in it turning into a foodie heaven with eateries catering for almost any taste and culture. It has also become a centre point for the arts in the same way.

On top of it all, it even has some amazing opportunities to get that much-needed beach and sun time in.

Maybe the most impressive thing of all is the sheer scale and pace at which things are developing in this city. It’s at the forefront of human development and progression in that sense. Just being witness to this is something that will change your whole outlook on the world.

We hope that this list has opened your eyes once again to all the amazing experiences that are awaiting you. The best thing of all is that everything on this list is in relatively close proximity at just a few hours of flight separating them and is so centrally located in the world at large. If you haven’t start packing your bags and booking flights yet, what are you waiting for? And don’t forget to spoil your loved ones back home with some red roses while you’re away!

0

china-boy-art-e-waste

Favorite vacation spots we are losing because of us (tourists)

0

Have you ever wondered what impact the crowds of tourists have on popular travel destinations? Of course, the first thing that springs to mind is a round sum they bring to the local budget. However, a lot of cities suffer rather than benefit from tourists.  Local authorities don’t welcome tourist and already take certain measures, like tourism fees. Here is a list of destinations from vavadating that very soon might close their “doors” before travelers. If you plan to visit some of them, you’d better do it as soon as possible in order to share your memories with your grandchildren one day.

Venice, Italy

There are actually two reasons why Venice may cease to be a popular tourist destination. The first one is natural – Venice is slowly sinking, turning from the floating city into the city under the water. The other one is the figure of 80000 travelers a day. The locals haven’t limited the number of tourists yet, but this idea seems appealing to them. So far, the city copes with tourists imposing a tourism tax and increasing public transport fares. Pickpockets also do their part in deterring tourists.

Cinque Terre, Italy

“Five Lands” (this is how the name is translated) is one of the most popular Italian destinations among tourists. 2 years ago 2.5 million people visited these fishing villages. The cruise liners contributed to the flow of tourists. The infrastructure of the community is incapable of hosting so many guests, so it was decided to limit their number to 1.5 million visitors a year.

Bhutan

The small kingdom lost in the Himalayas beckons the tourists who are sick and tired of mainstream destinations. However, it’s not that easy to get there. Every traveler must pay $200 per each day of their stay in the country. The exception is made only by the citizens of India, Bangladesh, and Maldives. Apart from paying for your sojourn, you can’t travel around the country alone – only with a paid guide. The number of visas issued is also limited.

Lord Howe Island, Australia

This small volcanic island of the boomerang shape is located near the coast between Brisbane and Sydney. The island belongs to Australia, but there is local self-government. No more than 400 tourists are allowed on the island simultaneously. The only way to get there is by plane unless you have your own yacht. A hotel should be booked several months in advance.

Machu Picchu, Peru

The lost Inca city has already restricted the number of tourists to 2500 people per day. To get on its territory you must have a ticket. Due to a high demand, you need to buy the tickets beforehand, especially during a high season, that from July to August.

Iceland

Almost every person keen on traveling wants to visit this fairytale country. Over the last three years, the number of tourists has increased three times thanks to new low-cost airlines. However, nobody took into account the fact that the country with a population of 320,000 people can’t provide proper tourist services. Even the capital city is short of hotels and hostels.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is a postcard island. Everything seems ideal in the pictures: white houses with blue shutters, taverns, empty streets… those who come here see a totally different picture: it’s overcrowded with tourists. The port authorities want to limit the number of tourists to 8,000 per day.

Koh Tachai Island, Thailand

Koh Tachai is part of the Similan National Park, popular with divers. The beauty of the island, idyllic location, sandy beaches, and clear waters attracted too many tourists and resulted in degradation of resources. So, since May 2016 it’s closed for visitors.

0

International Coastal Cleanup

0

china-completed-the-worlds-biggest-floating-solar-energy-farm

0

CAR AC drain tube

Car AC water runoff

[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiGnixKvW7g&w=560&h=315]

0

Mars colony image 2

Mars settlement image 1
