The Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) and Abu Dhabi’s green energy company, Masdar, signed a framework agreement on February 18th for a 200 megawatt wind power plant, slated for Egypt’s eastern coast near Suez.

The project is the first collaborative venture between Egypt and the UAE in the field of renewable energy, noted Aktham Aboul Ela, a senior official at Egypt’s Electricity and Energy Ministry. “The agreement will allow for the construction and start of implementation of the first 200 megawatt wind farm in the country,” Aboul Ela told Reuters.

Egypt already has wind farms at Zafarana and Hurghada on its Red Sea coastline, with an installed capacity of 430 megawatts of wind energy. The area is one of the windiest sites in the Middle East, with average wind speeds of over 9 meters per sec.

The country aims to generate 12% of its power from wind farms out of a total goal of 20% from renewable sources by 2020. It is seeking to attract $110 billion in investments in its energy sector by 2027, according to Reuters.

The agreement with Masdar comes in the context of enhancing UAE-Egyptian relations in all fields, especially in the field of new and renewable energy, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.

Masdar is already involved in other wind projects, including the London Array offshore wind farm and a similar project in the Seychelles.

The Hidden Components Powering the Renewable Energy Revolution

A rooftop solar system looks simple: panels, an inverter, a battery and a few cables. But beneath that simplicity lies a bill of materials thousands of lines long, where tiny current sensors, magnetic cores, gate drivers, capacitors and connectors quietly determine efficiency, safety and lifespan. These overlooked components—not the solar panels themselves—are why today's residential solar systems are smaller, smarter and far more reliable than those of a decade ago.

Sustainable Manufacturing Frameworks Reducing Waste in Heavy Industry

Hydraulic systems are at the heart of heavy manufacturing, but poor maintenance can lead to fluid leaks, downtime, and unnecessary waste. By focusing on preventive maintenance, fluid monitoring, filtration, and early leak detection, industrial facilities can improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and strengthen sustainable manufacturing without major capital investments.

Wave wind energy for Nvidia’s next AI energy boom?

As AI factories consume unprecedented amounts of electricity, NVIDIA is looking beyond chips and data centers to the ocean. The company recently spotlighted Israel's Eco Wave Power and its wave energy projects in Jaffa and Los Angeles, highlighting how AI, digital twins and renewable energy can work together to meet future power demands. The collaboration reflects a growing realization that the future of artificial intelligence may depend as much on clean energy infrastructure as it does on computing power.

Choosing Riyadh over Dubai? What Investors Should Know

Saudi Arabia is deploying capital at unmatched scale to catalyze tourism and advanced industry while rewiring its power-and-water backbone. The investable frontier is widening—especially in renewables, grid storage, water efficiency/desal retrofits, and hospitality operating platforms. Prudent investors will insist on phased delivery, enforceable KPIs (energy, water, biodiversity), and RHQ/zone compliance—while pricing political-economy and reputational risks alongside growth upside.

The Jewish National Fund Meets An Inconvenient Truth

According to the JNF, it has transformed thousands of acres of barren land into green forests in Israel. They state that each person emits about 23 tons of carbon per year, estimating that each tree planted can absorb one ton of carbon in its lifetime. That's a whole lot of trees you'd need to be planting. Could so many fit in Israel?
