Learn from Morocco at sunny solar MENASOL conference in Dubai

The companies Acciona and TSK will be meeting in Dubai to discuss the challenges and opportunities of constructing the Noor I CSP plant in Morocco. Meet the Acciona and TSK delegation as they attend the May 6 to 7 solar Menasol event in Dubai.

What you can do? Join in on their panel discussion on Morocco’s CSP industry and the lessons learnt on site in Ouarzazate. The 160MW Noor I CSP project in Morocco has been under construction for almost a year and is expected to reach commercial operation in the second half of 2015.

It is Morocco’s first concentrated solar power plant and is being developed by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA power. The EPC consortium is composed of spain’s TSK Electrónica y Electicidad, Acciona Infrastructuras, Acciona Ingeniería, and Sener Ingeniería y Sistemas.

Alfons Juan Tomas, Director of Operations at Acciona Infrastructuras will be joined by Alan Cortizo
Suárez, Power & Industrial Plants Sales Manager at TSK to share their experiences of working on the
plant in Morocco and the lessons learnt for future CSP projects in the Middle East and North Africa.

Acciona and TSK will also be joined by the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (MASEN) who are the
solar energy off-taker and also part-own and part-funded the Noor I project. MASEN will be sharing
their insight into the strategies for successfully creating a rapidly emerging CSP industry in Morocco
and the reasons for prioritizing large scale concentrated solar power projects over photovoltaic
projects.
