Turbo.roo is a sweet little chihuahua who was born with just two front legs. The breeder gave up the puppy after realizing that he would need a great deal of special care, so a vet in Indianapolis adopted him.
In order to help Turbo.roo gain some mobility, the Speedway, IN vet Ashely Looper set up a heartwarming crowdfunding campaign. He is just six-months-old, and he needed some wheels. The campaign was enormously successful.
“You guys have no idea how much my family and I appreciate all your love!” writes Turbo.roo, who has a Facebook account and a Twitter account.
“Since we have surpassed our goal! I wanted to stop by and update you all! Many companies are working to build me a cart just special for me as a puppy!”

Mark Dewrick from San Diego-based studio 3dyn caught wind of the campaign and designed an über cool set of wheels for him. The support was 3D-printed with a Makerbot 3D-printer and strapped to the puppy’s back, and then a set of luminous green skateboard wheels allows him to move.
Turbo.roo is something of a celebrity now thanks to his wonderful owner and frequently receives fan mail from other doggies (and their owners) from across the United States. But he will require ongoing care, and the money received from supporters will help ensure that is possible.
“The money that is left over will go towards future vet visits such as vaccines, xrays ( which I will need to track my bone growth), and medications to make my bones and joints super strong!”
Not everyone in the Middle East can identify with giving this kind of devotion to a small, disabled animal, and for sure there are many people who could use the same loving care, but with so much bad news in the world, we couldn’t resist sharing this sweet story.
