In Papua New Guinea, Chevron owns a massive tract of rain forest with one tiny road going through it and numerous oil drills, which are hard to see as they are lost in the forest, but they do work. Not only is the forest around the drills completely intact but because it is closed to local tribesmen, the wildlife on the tract is much more abundant than off of it. Goanas, giant crowned pigeons, cassowaries, birds of paradise, cuscuses, and tree kangaroos are much more abundant there. And since Israelis are generally an environmentally aware people, I’m sure they won’t allow the Golan to be ruined.
