I visited Jordan Twice to participate in International Conferences in Renewable Energy. I could see simple solar water heaters on the terraces of the houses. Also in Jerusalem(Israel) there is a solar water on almost every house. Infact Israel was the very early country to promote solar energy.
Developing countries can go in for simple solar water heater(Vertical and Cylindrical besides mobile) designed and developed by me which can be made locally with local resources and costs one third of the commercial solar water heaters(100 lpd). I purposely made the collector cum storage tank an integrated one with stainless steel so that the heated water can be used as preheated water in cooking either by electricity,gas,kerosene and even firewood. It is expected this innovative everybody’s solar water heater will be a boon for those living in rural areas of developing countries.
