Why does this plan propose a 3x longer bridge running SW from Tiran for a so mmuch greater distance than a bridge running due West from North Tiran? The eco-costs of a short route will also be less.
A NE route from Tiran to the South end of Rash Humayad will also be shorter in terms of hydraulic engineering.
What is the estimated outline cost in billions of dollars?
What height above the water is the bridge deck to be to allow for shipping to Aqaba and Eilat? (48 m = 160 feet)

I believe there is a ferry that takes people from Egypt to Saudi Arabia at this location - especially during the Hajj. From what I understand, this is supposed to be a quite interesting and picturesque way of crossing, and mixing with the locals.

This option should continue; and not something ecologically damaging like a bridge.
