100 eco-minded individuals will gather in Israel next weekend to brainstorm creative technological approaches to environmental challenges.
Have you ever dreamed about brainstorming with 99 other eco-minded individuals to find clever solutions to our various environmental challenges? If so, this may be for you. TentTech is an invitation-only gathering of 100 artists, scientists, designers, agriculturalists, and other interdisciplinary innovators that takes place in Beerotayim, Israel next weekend. The goal is to develop earth-friendly projects in four categories: water, energy, shelter, and communication in a power and water-scarce environment. More details after the jump.
Accommodation consists of either mud houses or tents, with mattresses provided, and there are shower rooms and toilets. Electricity is available from 8am to 8pm, but frugal use is encouraged. Same goes for the borehole water.
Once the basic human needs are catered for, these bright people will set about to realize some kind of awesome project that requires few resources but a lot of creativity. There will be workshops, discussions, and even cultural events when the sun goes down and the day’s work has been complete.
Food will be provided, along with coffee, beer and a pile of camp spirit right up until the last day, Sunday April 21st.
In a presentation, TentTech organizers claim that “environmental DIY is not just an economical choice, it is a lifestyle.”
Participants are urged to use their creative drive to find a better way to live, a way that is both efficient and harmless, and that works in harmony with the ecosystems that sustain us.
Contact TentTech if you think you are eligible to participate in this event. It could be a life-changing one.
