IDE’s new system has an entirely biological system of pretreatment and a new way of cleaning the membranes very frequently before the biofouling can get a grip on them. No chemicals needed at all. Let’s see how it works! Also this is not yet designed for “huge” projects, more small to middle-sized, so they say.

The heat – 40C – can come from electricity, by drawing the cool brine/polluted water trough a coil of black plastic pipe in the sun, or from a GRP water-brake driven by a wind or water turbine.
