Arab Students Oppose Spain's Boycott of Israeli Students at Solar Decathlon

Political extremists launched a boycott campaign targeting Israel last year, pressuring Spain into expelling Ariel University Center (AUC) from the 2010 Solar Decathlon as Green Prophet reported. The Solar Decathlon is an international competition that calls on students in Europe to build a self-sustaining solar house. Ariel’s team was chosen as one of 20 finalists, in the US Department of Energy-sponsored event.

The international community has been pressuring Spain to reverse its decision. Above is a video of Arab students, explaining why you should vote in a petition against this exclusion. Boycotting environmental science that could better our planet. Green Prophet says boo to Spain.

If you agree that solar research should never be a part of any organization’s agenda or politics, sign the petition.

Ariel is a university not by virtue of any academic credentials but by edict of a political operative, namely ex-genralissimo Barak, who himself is not a paragon of virtue, being resposible of the recent gaza atrocities. ariel “college” is neither recognized by other institutions nor is it a respected establishment, given that it's located on stolen land and practices apartheid admission policies at the expense of the native population. No project submitted on behalf of this establishment should be accepted by the international community, any more than projects from south africa were accepted at the time.A commitment to ethical considerations by educational, cultural and scientific groups requires that entries from ariel be boycotted. The request that the entry be rejected is supported not only by arab students but by all students of conscience. Many of us who live in israel and work in academia have been practicing a silent underwater boycott of ariel for many reasons, both academic and ethical. We hope that the rest of the world will join us in this action.

i do believe that sustainable development an the renewable energy is the main challenges of our new world, and i do believe that since should be clean from any political agenda, therefore green profit is one of my favourit news to read in the middle east. but describing the boycott action as a political extremities is not accepted. Ariel University has a very extreme Zinosist agenda, in the university web site, in the descriptive clip for advertising the university, it says ''our goal was to establish academic institute in very heart of Jewish land'. thats makes it in the sense of academisation of the Judaism and occupation according to united nation resolutions. the campaign is not targeting Israel;Israel as we all know is defined country with knowing borders based on the united nation, middle eastern countries and Palestinian recognition. while this university is not in Israel, its in the occupied Palestinian territories, trying for attempted to academisation of the Judaism.i am an Arabic student studying in Israel (not in the occupied Palestinian territories by the definition of united nation), i would really admire the article if you but another video that describes the university to be subjective and professionals.
