I don&#039;t know if many readers are aware, but the US government currently gives a $40 billion subsidy to the airlines per year (which are a private entity), compared with (before the new bill) $1 billion to Amtrak, which is owned by the government.  No wonder it&#039;s more expensive.]]></description>
