ReUse: An Evening of Eco-Art in Central Jerusalem

reuse recycling environmental art JerusalemNext week, fans of eco-art in Jerusalem won’t have to travel all the way to the eco-arts village in the Ella Valley for a fix. Instead, some of Israel’s finest eco-art will be on exhibition in the heart of Jerusalem on August 12th, in the Merkaz Hamagshimim community center (located near Emek Refaim, and where this Prophet had her theatrical debut).

Volunteering at the event will be our very own James Murray-White.

The exhibit will include eco-furniture, accessories, and eco-fashions, and will end off with a special auction. A full schedule of the event from the Merkaz appears after the jump:

Starting at 7:30pm, there will be an impressive display of re-used fashion, accessories, painting, industrial designs, and sculptures. The artists will also be offering their creations for purchase.
At 8:30pm, there will be the “Re-Use Runway.” Betzalel’s fashion designers will be making clothes, and then showing them off on our models.  In addition to this, we will also be exhibiting our clothing collection from 7A – our unique second hand store.

At 9:00pm, there will be a special auction of the different displays. More importantly, this auction will be a statement and demonstration of how we do not need to go out and buy new clothes, but rather re-use creatively what is already at our disposal.
