I-Day BBQ?

For those of you gearing up for the traditional Independence Day (and summer) BBQ think twice before you decide to fill your food with chemical-filled smoke by using specially treated bbq starters. Instead, save up your milk cartons, not the plastic ones, mind you. The cardboard ones are coated with wax, it makes great kindle!

After consulting with the eco-rabbi I discovered that if you wash them out whatever remnants of dairy that remains will not effect your food enough to make it unkosher, especially since it till be long evaporated before you think of putting meat on your grill.

Happy I-day!

As far back as he can remember Jack Reichert has been interested in the environment. In the second grade, he rallied all of his classmates to donate one recess a week to cleaning up litter from the schoolyard. That was the same year that a city councilman asked him to help with his campaign because of the letter Jack had written asking him to clean up Boston Harbor. Ever since Jack has followed the development of the international green conscience with anticipation and hope that one day we will treat Mother Earth with the respect she deserves and not turn her into another Giving Tree.
