Get a Shabbos-Clock for Your Heater

Religious Jews will not turn on or off electricity on the Sabbath. Their solution? A timer electrical outlet, a shabbas-clock. Set the times you want the appliance plugged in to be on and let it go…

To save energy these outlets are great to use for space heaters. If you use space heaters when those cold nights hit so does the dilemma of whether to keep your heater on or not hits as well. If you use these outlets you can have your heater turn on and off periodically throughout the night. I personally have it on as I fall asleep and set it to turn on again about 15 minutes before I wake up. This way I can wake up warm and save energy.

You can do this too and GreenYourselfNightly.

As far back as he can remember Jack Reichert has been interested in the environment. In the second grade, he rallied all of his classmates to donate one recess a week to cleaning up litter from the schoolyard. That was the same year that a city councilman asked him to help with his campaign because of the letter Jack had written asking him to clean up Boston Harbor. Ever since Jack has followed the development of the international green conscience with anticipation and hope that one day we will treat Mother Earth with the respect she deserves and not turn her into another Giving Tree.
